この曲は、福島地方の「ホラねろねんねろ」という子守唄にもとづいて作曲されました。曲全体に断片化された旋律が散りばめられ、形式やハーモニーといった構造のモデルも、すべてこの素朴な子守唄から導かれています。原曲の持つおおらかな叙情性が、この音楽を聴くひとにもひとときの安らぎをもたらすことを願っています。(プロジェクト「ヒバリ」楽曲解説)

This peice is based on a traditional lullaby from the Fukushima region. The original melody is fragmented throughout the piece, while te form and harmony are also consturucted from this song.
